Brief Description: Trimming Horizontal Stabilizer for Elevator Swing
These pictures show the completed elevator counterbalance tabs cut out of the horizontal stabilizer. You may also be wondering why the lead counterbalance weight on the right and left elevators look different. The left side is heavier to account for the trim tab motor weight and dynamic force the trim tab exerts in flight. It was no fun cutting that lead weight on the band saw...the lead would melt and gum up the blade.
