Brief Description:  Fabricating and Installing Electric Aileron Trim S

Fabricating the electric aileron trim system involves fabricating a bracket to 3 13/16"; measuring and drilling a UHMW plastic pivot block, then drilling, countersinking and riveting 4 nutplates to the bracket (picture 1). You also have to modify the trim weldment and drill a hole in the center shaft to attach a mounting washer and cotter key through a notch fabricated in the pivot block. Next you bend and attach a Trim Weldment to the Pivot Block Assembly (picture 2). Prime and mount all the pieces. Next, you fabricate two attachment arms and attach to the trim Servo-motor assembly with pins and cotter keys. Next you have to connect a 12v power supply and fully extend and retract to finally center the servo arm. This is the neutral position for the aileron trim assembly. Finally, I fabricated and bent two spring attachment brackets which will later mount to the right and left control sticks and the trim weldment assembly.
