Brief Description: Installed Flap Positioning System and Wiring
I purchased a Van's Flap Position System and installed it on the flap actuator. I also prewired the control box and mounted it on the forward baggage compartment brace. I installed a rubber grommet in the floor panel to protect the wires (seen in the 2nd picture with the wires extended through the floor). The instructions are a little vague but eventually I figured where everything went and was able to test the 3-position switch and control box. This system will deploy the flaps to 10, 20, and full 30 degree positions. Then when the flaps are retracted all I have to do is flip the switch up and it retracts the flaps in one motion...i.e. I don't have to hold the switch in the on position through the entire flap reteraction process. It's a nice system and will be handy when I have to perform a missed approach/go-around maneuver when the flaps are deployed. I also installed nutplates on the forward baggage compartment brace to attach the side panels. In these pictures I have the right side panel attached.
