Brief Description: Fabricated Brackets for Control Stick Access
On the RV-7A, I needed to create some removable brackets in the bulkhead braces. These brackets will allow me to install the assembled control stick assembly and the aileron pushrods at a later date. These little buggers were time consuming. I also cut some plywood pieces to fit over the cabin floor so I could maneuver inside the cabin area without worrying about denting the skin or bending something by stepping on it. I am trying to be very careful about pulling or twisting my achilles tendon. It's not fully healed since my injury at Christmas. The plywood make a smooth surface to kneel on. A friend of mine from Townsend recommended I fabricate these removable sections on all four braces that are in the center of the seats. I didn't have a any aluminum that was 3/16 thick so I fabricated the braces out of thin steel. They took way more time then they should have but they turned out OK and the screw holes in the seats line up perfectly.
