Brief Description:  Nosewheel Stop Backwards

I recently received an e-mail from a builder who was looking at my kitlog website asking me if I installed my Nosewheel Travel Stop on backwards. Apparently, enough builders do this that Van’s published a notice that says,” Don’t do this, meathead!” Actually, it doesn’t say that, but for whatever reason, I obviously didn’t get the memo. I checked the stop, which I installed over three years ago, AND I did put it on backwards. I probably would have figured I screwed something up the first time I attempted to do a sharp turn and drove through somebody’s hangar or off a taxiway. I am very thankful to Jim Kinslow for looking at my website, then covering my six to let me know my stop was installed wrong. Coincidently, another friend of mine who is building a -8A and is approximately in the same building processes, did the same thing on his project two weeks ago. I assumed he had taken a picture of mine and installed his nosewheel stop the same way, but he graciously told me he screwed that up all on his own, too! So, from both of us, thank you Jim!
