Brief Description:  Reconditioned & Painted Intake and Starter

It took me nearly 5 hours to clean the corrosion off the intake pipes and fittings and 2 hours to disassemble the starter and clean it. It took another 7 hours to find all (4) of the missing starter-brush springs that came flying out when I disassembled the starter. My wife finally found the last spring inside a rolled-up set of plans on the far side of the garage (26’ from where I disassembled the dang starter. We had to look in every box, clean all the equipment; above inside, and below; and in every parts bin in the entire garage. I was ready to give up after a couple hours until I called SkyTec to order a replacement spring. Since I’m not a certified A&P, they wanted me to send the starter to them so they could recondition it for a mere $80-$100…all for a $2 spring. So, my wife and I searched for 5 more hours until she found the last spring! After removing all traces of corrosion, we masked off the engine and I Primed/Painted the Intakes and the Starter.
