In the last couple days, I match-drilled and mounted the C-665 rear mounting blocks. I decided to temporarily mount a wood block in-place of the phenolic block to make sure I got the drilling angles (both inward and downward) correct. The plans call for 23-degree downward and 5-degree inward angles so I set the drill press for 23 degrees and made 5-degree wedges mounted under the drill press vice. Drilling was pretty straightforward after that but the setup took some time to make sure it was correct. The drill entry point is marked by sliding the canopy forward until it touches the phenolic block. After I got everything mounted, I chamfered the edges of the pin-holes and slightly enlarged the holes so the pins wouldn’t bind when the canopy is opened/closed. Finally, I readjusted the canopy latch so it locks properly and made the final adjustments of the C-762/C-763 rear slide track.
