Brief Description: Install Fiberglass Tip on Vertical Stabilizer
I fabricated the fiberglass tip on the Vertical Stabilizer in the same manner as the horizontal stabilizer and elevator. I fabricated a bigger rivet-strip to accommodate a better fit for final fiber glassing around the VOR/Glideslope Antenna. The final assembly is temporarily installed until finish fiberglass work can be done to close the open end of the tip. In the 3rd picture below, you can see the rivet-strip closely follows the contour of the antenna base. This will be filled in with a fiberglass slurry at a later date.
