Brief Description:  Empennage Fairing Attachment (cont.)

After I completed cutting out the empennage gap covers, I temporarily installed the fairing, covers, seals, and screws for a final fitting and adjustment. I decided the access hole covers needed a center screw to hold the top of the cover in-place so I drilled and dimpled the covers to match the underlying screw-holes from the empennage gap cover. You can see in the second picture there is a gap between the fiberglass fairing and the horizontal stabilizer upper-leading-edge. This gap will be filled with fiberglass at a later date, after I put on the canopy. I have a friend who is an expert 'fiberglasser' and he will help me do all the final fiberglass finish-work that needs to be done on all the fiberglass wingtips, canopy, spinner, and various fairings.
