Brief Description: Adjusted Elevator Trim to Center Pitch-Trim Indica
The Elevator Trim Indicator does not have an electronic calibration to center the indicator when the trim tab is centered. So, I did the calibration ‘backwards’ from what I would expect could have easily be done electronically…I adjusted the “hat-switch” trim until the indicator showed it was centered (neutral position). Then I adjusted the trim actuator push-pull rod to align the trim tab with the surface of the elevator and secured the clevis-pin on the rod with a cotter pin. I also tested the trim tab by extending the tab to its full upper and lower limits to make sure I didn’t introduce any binding by extending the push-pull rod and clevis. I had no issues and now my indicator is accurately adjusted to show when the trim tab is in it’s neutral, trim up, or trim down position.
