Brief Description: Completed Final GRT AHRS Connections
|
|
I completed the final Grand Rapids Technology (GRT) Attitude-Heading Reference System (AHRS) connections to the GRT Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS), the GRT Magnetometer, the dual RAIM WAAS GPS, and the switch-controlled GRT back-up battery. This integration provides electronic displays for airspeed, altimeter, vertical speed horizon/attitude, turn coordinator, slip/skid ball, magnetic heading, groundspeed, bearing and distance. I installed the AHRS module in the aft-fuselage over three years ago and had to remove the electrical connectors to energize each of the pins to label all the wires (the wires labels I originally installed inadvertently ended up under the seat panels where they were not visible without trying to read them with a mirror while standing on my head)...rooky mistake to be sure, but also time consuming and irritating. The good news is I found a wire with a bad connection and repaired it; so not all was lost!
