Brief Description:  Finished DYNON EFIS/Magnetometer/PC Wiring

Today I completed all the Dynon D60 EFIS, Magnetometer, GPS failover, and D9 Data Input/Output PC Connector. I had a little trouble with the D9 Data Input/Output PC Connector because I didn’t realize DYNON had already created a GPS Transmit Line to the Serial 1 RS-232 Transmit Circuit that you have to disconnect while loading EFIS firmware. I took the D25 connector apart three times until I figured out what they did. It wasn’t a big deal, I just wasn’t thinking. Instead of using a Radio Shack spade and fast-on disconnect, I used an in-line fuse which is kept in the glove-box with the PC Data Connector. When the fuse is connected, the GPS failover (from the GNS 430W WAAS GPS RS-232 input) will automatically send GPS data to the DYNON EFIS. Then whenever I upload DYNON Firmware from my laptop, all I have to do is disconnect the fuse-holder. I think that is much easier to do than to install a spade, fast-on connector, and have to fight with that to get it apart every time I do a firmware update. The firmware updates probably don’t happen all that often, but I like this better.
