Brief Description: Nutplates installed for all non-Garmin equipment
When I originally installed the GRT EFIS and EIS into the panel, I used nuts and lock-washers on screws. If I ever have to remove the GRT Display units it would be next to impossible because there is no access to the nuts from underneath the panel due to wires, braces etc. So, I pulled the GRT Displays for both the EFIS and EIS and installed nutplates in place of the nuts. Now the equipment can all be pulled forward if I ever have to maintain it. I will also leave a6-10 in service loop in all the wires going to the harnesses. I don’t know why I didn’t do this in the first place. Chalk it up to lack of experience or laziness, I guess. The first picture shows the harnesses for the EFIS installed on the back of the unit. The second picture is the hole I cut into the panel for the EFIS. The third picture is one of the nutplates. I did this for all the remaining equipment that wasn’t made by Garmin or didn't have back plates similar to Garmin.
