Brief Description:  Continued wiring AOA CPU, Controls, & Indicator

Completed wiring for AOA CPU to the Red push-button (Pin 21 and ground) test light and Black push-button (Pin 6 and ground) dimmer lights. Completed wiring for AOA CPU AND Panel Mounted Indicator for the 20 AWG Power (Pin 2 of the CPU). I tied the Power to the AOA system into an existing wire on the P2 Main Buss with a 5 Amp breaker and connected the Ground [Pin 1 of the CPU] to the Common aircraft ground buss. Completed wiring from the AOA CPU to the AOA Panel Mounted Indicator (Pins 3, 4, 5,15,16,17, & 18). Unfortunately, I had major problems with the Panel Mounted Indicator connector…after nearly 5 hours of trying to make the factory connector work, I ended up fabricating my own connectors using female D-sub fittings and soldering them to the Panel Mounted Indicator circuit board. I didn’t do any ground-testing of the AOA…hope I didn’t fry the board…I do not do a stellar job at soldering on circuit boards! It looked OK but I’d never show it to an avionics technician.

The only remaining AOA wiring is to connect the four 26 Ohm audio and ground wires to the Garmin GMA 240 Audio Panel to hear the audio warnings for stalls, flap configuration changes, and approach configuration. Finally, there are several checks and ground testing to make sure the AOA is set up and wired correctly.
