Brief Description:  Install Tosten Stick Grips

I temporarily installed my upholstered seats to gauge how much of the stick I needed to cut off so the grips would be comfortable, yet I would not cut too much stick off so the motion radius would adversely affect flying. Van’s does not recommend you cut off any of the stick because little movement of the stick is required for normal flying…if you cut off much stick that same amount of movement is compounded due to a shorter stick. None-the-less, I cut off about 2 ½ inches on both sticks since most builders say this is acceptable; in fact many builders cut off more so they can rest their arms on their laps when they fly. I gauged this so I can hold the stick below the grip if I want to rest my arms on my lap…hopefully this approach will be good. The Tosten grips were the 2nd set of grips I purchased. Both the pilot and co-pilot grip have a hat switch for elevator and aileron trim, mike keying, and autopilot engage/disengage functionality. Additionally, this pilot grip has two more buttons to control two other functions (like switching com 1 and com 2, switching the active com frequency to standby and vice-versa, or changing EFIS displays).
