Brief Description:  Original Terminal-End Drop-down Panel

Over 21 years in the Air Force in aircraft maintenance, I realized the importance of designing electrical systems so you could easily troubleshoot and replace modular components without having to run new wires thoughout the aircraft. I purchased these individual terminal ends and mounted them on a home-made drop-down panel of my own design. There was a slight problem with the intended location...it appeared like a 16"X16" drop down panel would fit (very tightly) under the avionics bay. What I didn't take into consideration was the "yet-to-be-installed" fresh air ventilators and the control cables for the propeller, throttle, and mixture. I was very unhappy with myself when I installed the fresh air ventilators and their respective hoses because my drop-down panel was now approximatly two inches too long and two inches too wide. To top that off, there was 1/4 inch of panel that interferred with the Prop control. So, my only alternative was to redesign the drop-down panel and tear it all apart.
