Brief Description: Tested the wingtip lights and Magnetometers
I temporarily connected all my wing-tip lighting (Nav, taxi, landing, & strobes) to their respective power sources and they all worked great! Then I placed a small compass I use while hiking on top of the two Magnetometers and activated the lights and the strobes...AND I WATCHED THE COMPASS DEFLECT 7 DEGREES EVERYTIME THE STROBE FLASHED. Obviously, that wouldn't be a real optimum situation to have my remote compasses for each of my EFIS displays pulsating more that 5 degrees every time I turn on the lights. So after 40 hours of work to redo the wiring and installing the remote compasses in the wing tips, I had to pull both of the Magnetometers, their respective wires, cables, and connectors to re-located them inside the fuselage where they won't be affected by the strobes. The pictures below show the before and after. Since I already wasted all this time, I decided I might as well make the wiring to the aileron servo's more secure. GRRRR
