Brief Description:  Install AHRS Bracket

Its been several months since I worked on the RV due to a job change. Today I decided to get back into the building process and install an AHRS mounting bracket for my Grand Rapids AHRS. I ordered the kit from Van's and it should be a pretty straight forward install: Cleco the rib and baseplate together. Final drill , debur, dimple, prime, and install the rivets to connect the two pieces together. Before you do that, I needed to make sure I installed the nutplates or I'd never get the rivet hand squeezer onto the nutplates. Next you drill out the holes in the belcrank rib and the belly. These holes in the belly need to be countersunk. Check to make sure the AHRS bracket is parallel to the bulkhead flange and the bellcrank rib. Drill all the holes install all the rivets. I decided to back-rivet all the belly rivets because I had to ask my wife Susan to run the rivet gun or buck the rivets. Its much easier to use the back-rivet gun attachment than to do the bucking so thats what I asked her to do. In the next set of pictures, it all turned out very well.
