Brief Description: Built DRDT-2 table and more practice rivets
The majority of the day was building the table for the DRDT-2. I deviated from the instructions but I had a hard time coming up with exactly how I wanted to do it because I have never used the machine. It did turn out well in hindsight and I’m glad I did it the way I did. Mark Kenney came over sometime in the afternoon and helped me finish the table. We then did a bunch of practice with the rivet gun. We got acceptable results when he held the bucking bar and I held the gun. Me by myself was another story. Too much pressure, too little pressure. I finally started to get the hang of it by the end. I was getting awful discouraged though thinking about the sheer number of rivets I had to pound. The only real work we did on the plane was bending the angles on the two front spar doublers.
