Brief Description:  Service Bulletin for E6-Series Oil Cooler Mounts

Performed the Service Bulletin for the E6-Series Oil Cooler Mounts. This was a bit frustrating. The SB indictates to cut a 16" long piece of 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/8 aviation grade aluminum angle into two 8" pieces to replace the rectangular bars used to mount the Oil Cooler to the Engine mounting plate and use the rectangular bars to mark the hole locations in the angle. The issue I had was due to retain the exact location (vertically) that the Oil Cooler was in previously, the new mount arrangement has the Oil Cooler mount flanges sandwiched (for about 1/2") between the angle stock and the Engine mounting plate. This required creating shims from .063 flat aluminum between the remainder of the gap between the angle stock and the Engine mounting plate. Furthermore, if using bolts/nuts to secure the angle to the Engine mounting plate, for one of the bolt/nuts there is no way to get a wrench on the aft side due to minimal clearance with the Oil Cooler. So, installed K1100-3 nutplates on the backside of the angle stock and used AN3-7A bolts with an AN460-L flat washers under the bolt head to secure the angle stock to the Engine mounting plate. The pictures should help to show the new setup.
