Brief Description:  Panel wiring for Avionics

The TruTrak AP not powering up turned out to be a DAUE (that's an acronym for a Dumb A-- User Error). Turns out that when I routed the wire loom for the Servos, I taped the wire ends together to make them easier to pass thru wiring grommets. Well, I forgot about that, and didn't untape them -- and this caused a short when powering up the AP head. Good thing the TruTrak AP was on a fused wiring run -- per design -- because this is exactly why you want a cheap fuse blowing instead of an expensive instrument! Two fuses later, and a couple of calls to Tim at Approach Systems, I sheepishly admitted my error, corrected the problem, replaced the fuse -- and anxiously tested the AP. All is well. No smoke, and it performs self-test just fine.
