Brief Description: Panel - AirGizmo tray and compass issue
Opened up the holes for the vertical supports to #30 for 1/8" flush rivets. Riveted the vertical supports to the panel. Marked, then drilled the #19 holes for mounting the AirGizmo plastic tray to the vertical supports. Installed the compass, clock and the Garmin GPSMap 296 to check for spacing and look. Everything looked okay, but noticed a problem where both the clock and the 296 cause interference with the wet compass -- as much as 12 degrees. That's not good. Pulled the compass out and made a cover plate for the hole. I'll have to figure something else out for the compass. In the meantime, I cut the 2nd panel bulkhead to allow the longer Garmin SL30 to pass through. Cleaned up the edges, then dediced to mount all of the equipment so far to again check for spacing and balance. With the exception of the compass issue, I'm pleased with the results.
