Brief Description:  Radio stack trays installed

I started out by mounting the GTX-327 (transponder) in the bottom position. It mounted up perfectly. Using that unit as a base, I then trimmed the panel for the SL-30 (Nav/Comm 2) and set the unit in place (but did not drill mounting holes yet). I propped up the back of the SL-30 so that is was perpendicular to the panel. Next, I set the GNC-300XL (GPS/Comm 1) tray on top of the SL-30. Following that, I placed the GMA-340 (Audio panel) in place. I then installed the radios in their respective trays and made sure they were flush and level. At this point, using duct tape to secure the placement of the trays, I carefully slid the radios out of each tray. I then marked the drill locations for each tray to the vertical supports. Dis-assembling everything, I center punched each hole location, then drilled with a #36 drill then tapped each hole with a 6-32 tap. A little deburring was in order before I clecoed the vertical supports back to the panel. The GNC-300XL and the GMA-340 required a bit of panel trimming, as they were a bit tight. All units came out flush with the panel, and in perfect alignment. Very happy with how the stack turned out. (Note: Will replace the 6-32 1/2 inch screws with 6-32 1/4 inches screws for clearance around the vertical supports.)
