Didn't get much time on the project today. However, I did come up with a way to mark the cut line on the upper canopy. First, made sure the fuselage was level, side-to-side. Then, fashioned a 1 inch angle to the horizontal center of the prop disc that extends just beyond both sides of the upper cowling. Made sure this was level too. This provides a guide to mark the cut line all around the upper cowl. To mark the sides, used a thin piece of aluminum straight edge that can easily bend to the contour of the cowl yet rest on the angle in front. To mark the front edges, I simply extended a straight edge to the cowling off of the flat side of the angle. Next, marked the cut lines on the upper cowling. The cut will be tomorrow's job.
Fuselage is level, so it the angle
Extends past the cowl on either side. Also note the nut/bolt holding the top cowl to the disc...
