Brief Description:  Forward fuselage - preparation

The F-717 lower longerons took some time to get fitted. Worked most of the day on the fit of the left side F-717 longeron and the F-684 gusset. This would not have normally taken this amount of time; however, I had to remake the F-684 gusset from scratch when I found that my initial fit did not leave the proper amount of edge distance for the rivet holes on the long edge of the firewall flange. It's really important to make sure that before you cut and shape too much off of the F-684 gusset that you know where it's placement will be so the the proper edge distance for all 10 rivets for this part and THROUGH the firewall flange are correct. I spotted this before I drilled the firewall flange, so no harm was done -- just wasted time creating the new F-684 from scratch. Good thing I had some extra .063 material for this. ...Thanks Van's ;-) (Also keep in mind that the un-primed parts will all be dis-assembled and primed prior to final assembly -- with the expection of the stainless steel on the firewall of course...)
