Brief Description:  Pitot Static re-plumbing

The package arrived from Aircraft Spruce late in the afternoon today. I was bummed to find that the hose I was instructed to purchase was the same stiff Nylo hose I already have. The stabilizer inserts are correct -- and they are matched to this hose, but this hose if difficult to work with because it's so inflexible. With heat, you can make it turn corners tighter, but still it's a headache. Well, have to make due with what I have. So, started out at the left wing and added the stabilizer inserts to the fittings and they are now tight and hopefully leak-free. Continued through the entire system. For the smaller hose runs behind the panel, I swapped that hose out for the much easier-to-work-with PolyFlo polyethylene hose. Now that's the ticket!!! The highly recommended combination of hose/fittings for Pitot/Static/AOA connections are: Nylo fittings for 1/4" OD tubing, AircraftSpruce part numbers: 261-N, 262-N, 264-Nm 265-N, 268-N, etc, and the very important nylon insert, Aircraft Spruce part # N259-N (must have for each hose-to-fitting joint), along with Poly-Flo 1/4" OD tubing, part # 44-P.
