Started out trouble-shooting why the blades would not move. Travis and Darren showed up a few hours later and helped. With Travis' help, we found that there was a likely short with one of the brushes to the brush mount. Corrected that, but it did not solve our problem. Continued to look. Lee came by in the afternoon and it was decided to pull all of the blades because there must be some thing binding up. We opted to change the orientation of the keys used for each blade, and further testing seemed to prove the keys should all be changed to have the long portion of the key outward. Also moved the mechanism from the Full Fine pitch stop. The blades now work fine!! Cool! Lee and I then installed the cowling to see if/how much of an extension would be required to install the lower cowling. It's tough, but it goes on as is so no changes will be done at this point to the cowling. After admiring the propeller for a while, moved on to complete the Fuel tank forward attach points. Then removed the cowling and drilled the recommended four 1/2" holes up through the muffler as described in recent posts on the Eggenfellner forum. Also attached the tail pipe. Long day, but very gratifying.
