Brief Description:  Fitting the Cowl

Another very productive day. Started out by trimming the strip edges that surround the Coolant tank cap. Needed to get the clearance to easily install/remove the cap. Next it was on to riveting the strips and all of the remaining open rivet holes around the entire firewall. It has been good to work with aluminum and rivets again! ;-) Once the fastener strips were installed, placed the upper cowl in position and using the reference line, marked the initial cut (at the firewall edge) for the upper cowling. Next came the multiple file, sand, test fit cycles until the upper cowling would lay nicely in place. Then, drilled #30 holes through the cowl into the fastener tabs. Starting to look airplane-like!
