As mentioned earlier, in order to complete the Battery tray installation it was necessary to fabricate the F-789 Elevator pushrod and place it in the center tunnel. I have read that other builders had a difficult time installing this pushrod. It needs to be installed aft to fore. I chose to drill the rod ends to the tube but not install them until the pushrod was in place. This cut ~3 inches off of the total length making it a breeze to install. Once in the tunnel, I simply installed the MSP-42 rivets (6 each end) and left the rod for later completion. Now on to installing the battery tray.
