Brief Description:  Forward fuselage - preparation

After a week delay due to long hours at work, I can get back to the RV. The longerons are clamped in place along the center and aft fuselage with the vertex of the longeron even with the top of the side skins. I trimmed the length of the longerons so that the F-770 side skin extended 3/4" past the longeron. This to make proper room for fit of the firewall later on. Match-drilled the longerons in place to the side skins. That was an important step complete. Set the firewall in place and aligned things very carefully using the side skins and the F-772 bottom skin. Once sure of proper placement and fit, the side skins were drilled to the firewall flange. Next, the steel brakets on the firewall were drilled to the longerons. Whew!, that was a lot of critical work done. (Note: For this phase of work, remember that the fuselage structure is upside down on the saw-horses, so when viewing the pictures, keep this in mind.)
