Began by riveting the K-1000 nut plates to the small parts to prepare them for final assembly. Next came the heavy riveting of the vertical F-704C-L&R and the F-704D-L&R to the front and aft spars (the vertical parts in the pictures below). This process took some time as the close-tolerance NAS bolts were used to insure the correct alignment of these parts to the spar. Afterwards, the smaller Cover Support ribs were riveted in place. The Control Column Mounts were also bolted on. With the exception of the F-704H sied plates needing to be primed, the F-704 Center section is complete and can be set aside until later! Whew, this took me until midnight to get done!
