No need for any expensive electronic protractor when you have a good ole plastic one that has been taped together! At this stage, the objective is just to confirm that the book call-out minimum up/down travel can be achieved without any interference. The specification for up travel is minimum 25 degrees and maximum of 30 degrees. The specification for down travel is a minimum of 20 degrees with a maximum of 25 degrees. The elevators as installed at this point with no linkages or stops can reach a maximum of 38 degrees up and 33 degrees down. So, there should be no problem achieving the specifications.
