Brief Description: Prep left Elevator prior to final riveting
Preparation began by the counter-sinking of various rivet locations where the spars attach, and where the elevator horn attaches. Then spent some time locating, drilling, priming and riveting the WD-415 Trim Cable anchor for the manual trim to the trim inspection plate. It is much easier to do this now while the access is good to this location prior to closing up the Elevator. Next, it was on to bending the tabs of the Elevator skin next to the trim tab. This step took some time to fashion the bending jigs from wood, and then to bend first the bottom tab, followed by the top tab. Mike S. came by just as the bending was getting underway and with his help, the bends came our very nicely. Next will be the final assembly of the left Elevator.
