Brief Description:  Prepare right Elevator for assembly

After many long days of work, I was finally able to get back to working on the right Elevator. Started out by match-drilling all of the holes, then dis-assembly for deburring, dimpling and priming. The Elevator skeleton is final riveted along with the Elevator horn. The plans call for shaping the counter-balance weight to remove excess weight. The remainder of the weight will be taken off later on in order to final balance the Elevators. The counter-balance skin was attached in two places top and bottom in order to avoid having to use blind rivets later on. All of the other rivet locations for the skin are accessible during final assembly with the exception of these four. Next will be to add some RTV along the inside of the trailing edge at the points where the Elevator stiffeners converge. This is to reduce the chance of vibration cracking in these areas as the skin is creased at a tight angle to create the trailing edge. This step has to be done just prior to final assembly of the right Elevator. That will be tomorrows job.
