Started out by building the jig to bend the Elevator skins. The jig is nothing more than 2 - 2 x 8s roughly four feet long attached long-wise with hinges. The Elevator skin trailing edge is then compressed between the boards to the correct angle. Afterwards, the vinyl was removed from the skins and assembly began. It took some time to get the counter-balance weight trimmed to fit. Patience is required. Then the mounting holes for the lead weight were match-drilled with the skin. A drill bit lubricant is required when drilling the lead. The pictures show the right Elevator clecoed prior to assembly. Next is to match drill all the holes, dimple then prime the skin, spar and ribs, then assemble.
