Brief Description:  Deburring, Sanding and Scuffing

Tonight, I finished deburring all the parts of the right main tank. Now it's time to scuff up the skins before dimpling. The skins must be scuffed at all the faying areas (where the ribs and stiffeners are riveted on). This helps the Proseal (the goopy stuff used to make the tanks air-tight) get a good mechanical bond to all the surfaces. I recommend doing the scuffing BEFORE dimpling, because after dimples are in, the surface becomes very difficult to sand. Also, be sure to use sandpaper that is compatible with aluminum. Regular Silicon sandpaper is "no bueno" with aluminum.
