Brief Description: Hawaiian Beginnings - Part 1
|
|
So I felt that I should give a little "Back Story" for this website. I embarked upon my childhood dream of learning to fly a little late. I was 31 years old, living in Hawaii with my then fiance, Aneta, who was getting her MBA at the University of Hawaii. Needless to say, we were not wealthy. However, Aneta urged me to follow my dream. She bought me a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator for our computer, along with a yoke that clamped onto our little crappy particleboard desk. After that, she suggested we go on an introductory flight at the local flight school (Flight School Hawaii). After that I was hooked. If I wasn't working, I was either studying, flying the simulator or flying for real. While doing all this, Aneta and I were also working full-time and planning our wedding! What can I say, we were young and energetic. After a short 36.2 hours of flight time, I had my private pilot's license!
