Brief Description: First Skydiving Experience

For Christmas, Aneta got me a Groupon certificate to go tandem skydiving, while we were in Georgia. This is something I've wanted to try for some time. It was a great experience, and one that totally surprised me, as it was completely different from what I expected. Instead of the "adrenaline-pumping, life-altering, violently jerky, cheating-death type of experience" I had imagined, it actually very pleasant. I opted for the high altitude jump from 16,000 feet, so we had a lot of free-fall time. The feeling was not that of falling at all, more like floating and flying along in the wind. When the chute opened, it wasn't violent at all. The canopy was very maneuverable, and I had a lot of fun doing steep spirals and ultimately steering us towards the landing spot. All in all, it was enjoyable, but you won't catch me quitting my job to become a skydiving bum. The adrenaline just wasn't there for me. In fact, I'm glad I didn't pay extra for the video because I think it would have been boring watching me smiling quietly the whole time... Sorry, but the only pics were pretty poor resolution, so I decided not to upload them
