Brief Description:  Match-drilling Wing Ribs Continues

Well, it's been a long time away from the project. Most of that time away was spent going to Airventure 2012 in Oshkosh. I had a blast and it was very inspiring to see all the finished airplanes at Osh. This year was special too, since it was the 40th anniversary of Vans Aircraft. The RV-1 was inducted into the EAA museum and Van himself received several honors. It was a great year to be there as an RV Builder. I pitched my tent near the RV-10 HQ and met a lot of RV-10 builders, peppering each one with questions about my build. I also spent quite a bit of time in the forums and vendor tents to learn about accessories and avionics. I'm getting to the point where I have to start making decisions about components, so it's good I spent the time at OSH. Besides that, it was great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. This year was also special because of Alex Cuellar and his dad, Alejandro. Alex was diagnosed with a type of brain cancer, which is pretty serious, needless to say. I offered to help get him to Airventure if he promised to try and get healthy enough for the trip. It all worked out famously. A whole bunch of RV people came out to help make it a reality. I feel so blessed to be a member of such a generous group of people.

Today I finished match-drilling the left aft ribs to the spar and then match-drilled the aft ribs to the right wing spar in a similar fashion as the left. Lots of holes, and it was quite tedious, but I keep thinking, just wait 'till I get to the skins! ;)
