Brief Description:  Working on the Wing Spars

I decided to try to do the work on both wing spars at the same time, instead of doing one, then the other, like the instructions suggest. I figure it's best to do the same activities to both spars at the same time, while it's fresh in my mind and I'm well practiced. The first order of business is to match-drill and then rivet the spar extensions to the ends of both spars. Each one contains quite a few rivets, which all have to be bucked. After that, I cut stiffeners to size and deburred everything to be match-drilled using the spar, nested in the aft flange, top and bottom. The stiffeners will end up stiffening the ribs of the wing, but the holes should match the spar holes, in order to keep everything square. I was able to get everything positioned and started match-drilling, before neighbors came over with fresh made ice cream and all the trimmings. Had to call the evening for that one!
