Flying in Hawaii definitely "doesn't suck" however, flying out of Honolulu International Airport can be a challenge and Military traffic can be exciting to say the least. It's so beautiful above the islands and the big blue ocean though. Some people get a little freaked when flying over the water, but for student pilots like me, I never knew much else. While the Hawaiian Islands are all pretty close to each other, you do lose sight of shore unless the weather is super clear. Besides, it only takes one bad directional decision over the water to get into trouble, and it's a long way to American Samoa!
