Brief Description:  Up to 31 hours today.

Today I flew 2 hours. It was 90F on the ground, with a density altitude of 2,100. I had full fuel and put another 45 lbs of gravel in the right seat. My runway is 2,700' long, with trees at both ends. Normally I have no trouble with takeoffs. The end I was taking off toward also has a big hill. Well, it was a bit of a scary ride! I got off the ground fine, but the climb at 2,950 rpm, 55 kts, and 1,005 lbs, was anemic to say the least. The trees on the hill were looking quite intimidating! I don't want to do that again for a while. I still have to fly with another 95 lbs to get to gross, but I don't think I'll do that until a cool morning.

Engine temps were all high today, too. So much so that I was having no fun, and took an hour to climb to 3,000' because I had to throttle back and keep the climb very flat. Engine still seems to be running too lean!

31 total hours now!
