Brief Description:  Changing to Top Oil Cooler 1 of 3

First, why change to the top mount oil cooler? A few reasons. I'd been getting a lot of little oil leaks, and I haf not been able to positively rule out some of the oil hoses. With the top mount, no more hoses (I'm replacing the oil pump with the one that does not use hoses). Without the bottom oil cooler it makes oil changes and screen cleanings easier. I've already closed down most of my oil inlet hole in the cowl which has cut down on cooling drag. There doesn't appear to be a down side. Everyone I've spoken with that has a top mount has had nothing but good results.

After I made the change and flew my first test flight, when I got to the hangar the next morning... NO OIL ON THE FLOOR!

- Photo #1 shows a test fit. A tab on the bottom right corner of the cooler touched my crank case breather hose, so I had to cut/grind away that tab.

- Photo #2 & #3 shows the rear baffle with some light vertical lines drawn where the rear baffle needs to get cut away.
