Brief Description:  Rockers, crank seal, accessory plates

1. Set the rocker arm gap.

2. Went to put the rocker covers on, but the bolts that come with the kit are 1/4" to 1/2" too short! They do not fit any any way, shape or form. I'll get some new stainless steel bolts tomorrow from the hardware store.

3. Installed the oil seal at the flywheel-side of the crank. OK, here we go again...

The manual and DVD say to put sealant on the ring and tap it into place. Unfortunately when the seal is FLUSH with the case, there is a very large gap left between the seal and the case (see where I'm pointing in photo #1), and I don't know if that's correct. Neither the manual, nor the video, nor in any book, did I see any note about HOW FAR to seat the ring. I set it flush with the case, based on ONE single picture I could find of someone else's AV construction. It seems "wrong" to leave the large gap behind the seal. The manual should tell us.

4. Started to install the prop lugs, but they fit WAY, WAY tight, and my sockets were starting to strip the nut I was using to pull the lugs into place, so I stopped. I will get some extra bolts and nuts to use, tomorrow.

5. Installed many of the accessory plates that cover various openings in the case. See photo on next page.
