Brief Description:  Windscreen - bow and windscreen drilling

- With the windscreen removed, I used a flexible tape to measure off all the locations to be drilled. I marked a line at each point on the bow strap, and that is what I aligned my tool with.

- Using the tool shown in last night's photos, I drilled all the holes through the strap and bow. Mostly they came out pretty good. I had to eyeball how the holes would be perpendicular to the (not in place) windscreen. I was using a 1/16" pilot bit to start, then updrilled to 3/32" and put in clecos as I wentn (photo #1).

- Unfortunately I broke off a bit inside one of the holes, and I could not get it out. So I moved down the bow and drilled a new hole. Oh, well. It will be covered by the bow strap and windscreen.

- Now I removed the bow strap and reinstalled the windscreen, using clecos to hold it in place in the holes drilled yesterday.

- I shined a flashlight from below the bow so I could see light through the bow holes and through the windscreen. With a little nudging of the bow to get the correct hole offsets, I drilled through the windscreen and into the bow holes. I reinserted the clecos as I went.

- Lastly I shined a flashlight under the windscreen so I could see the holes in the forward fuselage strap, through the windscreen. Then I drilled a pilot hole in each location, and updrilled to size (photo #2).

Now I'm ready to remove the windscreen to prep all the parts for final assembly.
