Brief Description:  Hook Angle (for canopy)

As others have done, I am making my canopy latch double-height, so that one set of notches will close the canopy per plans, and the other set, below, can be used the prop the canopy open a couple of inches with the prop turning or not (think: taxi in summer time).

Photo #1 shows the original hook angle (canopy latch) below, and the new one (in progress) above. I used a full-scale paper pattern that I enlarged from the plans, and glued that onto the angle like I have for so many other parts.

Photo #2 is a close-up. See how I just copied the the original "hook" on a longer leg?

Photo #3 shows what happens when you don't pay attention. I started counter-sinking the wrong face of the angle. It's not a critical area (it receives the handle used to open and close the canopy) so I filled the counter-sunk side with JB Weld. Tomorrow I'll drill the holes back out and countersink the corret side of the holes.
