- Sonex's callouts for bronze bushings are too short 90% of the time, even with the paint removed. So I do what I always do; I buy longer bushings at the hardware store and cut them down to size. Photo #1 shows 2 cut bushings. The red lines are roughly where I need to get to, so I use my Dremel cutoff wheel to make the first cuts, then use a file and my Scotchbrite wheel to finish up.
