- Took apart the last 2 fairleads and installed the second rudder cable. Put the c-clips back on the fairleads and epoxy'd them in place (see yesterday's post).
- Installed the clevis bolts on both rudder horns, then remembered I will have to take them off to paint the rudder. Oh, well. They come off easily.
- Test fit the other ends of the rudder cables where they attach to the rudder pedals. Sonex made the pre-swaged cables about 2" too short. The C02-03 aluminum extensions (photo #3) are supposed to make up the difference. Even with the "extra" length I put on them when I made them was not enough to reach the cable ends!
- So I started laying out new C02-03's that will be a thumb width and a half longer than the ones I already had. Then I can test fit and cut down the length if necessary.
