- Max (Waiex builder) sent me photos of his F14-02 details that showed the location of a hole for the rudder return springs. The hole was not shown on my drawing.
- Fortunately I was able to get a drill bit in there to drill the 1/8" dia hole
- Installed the 1 rudder return spring I have (just ordered the 2nd)
- Then made the two rudder cable fairings for the rear fuselage. Like the tail fairings I used a torch to heat them up to remove the temper in them (they are not structural). Then I used the edge of my wood workbench, and a copper pipe and smaller wood dowel to work the fairing into the proper curve. They came out pretty well.
Ordered a bunch of things from Sonex today: fuel tank & cap; fuel tank straps; dual stick control triangle; 2 control horn assemblies; 2 control stick grip assemblies; 1 rudder return spring; pre-swaged rudder cables; Throttle quadrant.
This should keep me going for a while!!
