- Finished drilling all the holes for the phenolic rudder pedal support blocks. The specified 1" dia holes are a bit too small for the rudder pedal tubes, so I used a 1/2" drill bit in the drill press to enlarge the holes. I used the bit like a milling machine, holding the bit inside the holes and running the blocks around the bit to chew away at the interior walls.
- The weld at one end of each horizontal rudder pedal interferes, so the drawings call for chamfering on hole in each block to clear the welds. A small file and some elbow grease took care of that.
I could put the rudder pedals in now, but I want to get the gas tank in, first.
